Dirt Shelter

I've analyzed this picture closely, trying to find clues, but it's not giving very many. Most of the picture is over-exposed or in the shadows - the only objects in the foreground are some clothes tossed on the left bank, and a pail on the right. The child is standing on a board, probably placed there to avoid stepping on mud in wet times, and there are more boards holding up the ceiling. Probably is a root cellar, possibly a shelter when herding sheep. (Definitely not a Mandan-Indian type of construction).

The dark spots on the extreme left and right of the picture are from the brackets glued onto the picture to hold it in the photo album.
